About me

My name is Lorna, I am 23 years old and about to start a Masters degree in Translation and Interpreting at the University of York. Before my undergraduate degree, I took a gap year to Paris, where I worked as an Au pair with children aged 4-9. This was an experience I still look back on with fond memories, as caring for children and speaking to them in a foreign language was a dream for me. Looking after the children not only meant taking part in activities with them, but it also meant I could share my passions with them, for instance the children played Oboe and Piano (the very instruments I myself play) so I always enjoyed bonding over this shared interest.
